.HDR File Format
HDR, short for High Dymanic Range, is a range of techniques to create or display more contrast in pictures, with a greater dynamic range between the lightest and darkest areas of an image.
.HDR files are created by HDRsoft's software and used for enhancing the color and brightness range of a digital image, by fixing dark shadows or washing out areas of a picture.

How to select a program to open HDR files?
When you double click HDR files on computer, the associated program will be launched to open the selected HDR file. But you can change it to any program at your pleasure.
a) Select a program to open HDR files on Windows
Right-click on the HDR file and go through 'Open with' > 'Choose default program'. In the pop-up windows, choose a program as the HDR file opener. If you decide to always open HDR files with the program, only check the option 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file'.
b) Select another application to open HDR files on Mac
First Get Info about any one of HDR files by right-clicking or Command-I, and click 'Open with' arrow to choose a program to start your HDR file. Click 'Change All' button to set the selected application as the default HDR file opener app.
