.SCR File Format
A screensaver was initially designed to prevent phosphor burn-in on CRT and plasma computer monitors, which will automatically run when the computer is inactive for several minutes. A screensaver usually blank the screen or fill it with moving graphic, animations, slideshow, or patterns, etc.
Screensaver files are stored in the main Windows directory by default, and can be customized by going through Desktop -> Properties -> Screen Saver panel.
