| File Description | TTA, short for True Audio, are audio files compressed with the Free Lossless True Audio codec. It implements lossless compression on multichannel 8, 16, and 24-bit data of uncompressed .WAV files. "Lossless" refers to literally no quality loss, TTA stores the original audio data with compression ranging from 30% to 70%. Thus, you can compress 20 audio CDs worth of music on a single DVD-R without quality loss. |

When you double click TTA files on computer, the associated program will be launched to open the selected TTA file. But you can change it to any program at your pleasure. a) Select a program to open TTA files on WindowsRight-click on the TTA file and go through 'Open with' > 'Choose default program'. In the pop-up windows, choose a program as the TTA file opener. If you decide to always open TTA files with the program, only check the option 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file'.
b) Select another application to open TTA files on MacFirst Get Info about any one of TTA files by right-clicking or Command-I, and click 'Open with' arrow to choose a program to start your TTA file. Click 'Change All' button to set the selected application as the default TTA file opener app.
